One night, taking a stroll and meditating on some sweet words of encouragement, a song by a great minister of God flashed through my mind. It caught my attention soo much that I paused to ponder over it. Guess its lyrics?
I will waste my life again again on you, on you
There is profit in being wasted Lord on you, on you
What a joy to be wasted Lord on you, on you
Oh what a JOY to be wasted Lord on you, on you…
(written by Dr. Pastor Paul Eneche)
At once, it dawned on me how sometimes we “ill-advisedly” condemn people who spend much of their time in God’s service. We complain that instead of them finding jobs to do, they keep wasting time in church, etc.
Hmmmm, not to condone laziness, but who has set us judge over another man? Are you sure in God’s sight it is a waste of time? Don’t you think we must not judge the beginning of something when we haven’t known its end yet??
Note that the Bible says; the wisdom of God seems as foolishness to man. What may look wasted to man may not be wasted to God. Remember the story of the woman who anointed the feet of Jesus with precious ointments. To the onlookers, it looked as though she was wasting those expensive resources or ointments but to Jesus, it served a purpose of honoring him before his death. (Matthew 26:7-13)
Never judge the end of these people. But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (I Corinthians 2:9)
Note: Everything we ever toil and suffer for ends when Christ returns or the world comes to an end. The only investment that will matter greatly is one that was made in line with eternal life and for God’s Kingdom because his Kingdom and reign would continue forever.
That is why Jesus wisely recommended that we should lay up our treasures in heaven where no moth nor rust could destroy. (Matthew 6:20). Impliedly, get a secured investment!
And to those who have been victims of the above… keep doing the right, for God is watching. In due time, he shall reward you greatly.
You are not wasted in God. Wasted to man but not wasted to God.
Note: A wasted life is one that is lived without eternity in view!
A life spent on temporary gains and pleasure, a life spent on material things, a lifetime of sinning, nothing done for God.
*Only one life, twill soon pass away, but only what is done for Christ would last*.
Give of your best to the Master whilst still you may…and this begins with identifying your purpose in life
(what at all am I here for?)
Remember that you are on earth for a purpose.
Don’t get wasted!
Choose wisely! Invest wisely!
